Membership
The data and the explorer are open to everyone under an open licence. Reports, curated visualisations, support in interpreting the data, and a say in what gets built next are what membership funds.
Why it is funded this way
Open urban data does not maintain itself. Someone has to gather it, standardise it, check it against reality, and keep doing that as cities and networks change. Making the data free to use does not mean the work of producing it is free.
Membership funds that work directly, rather than paying for access to something that already exists. It also gives members a say in what gets built next, since they are the ones funding it.
What members get
Direction
Members choose the next dataset, the next city, the next indicator.
Continuity
The data stays maintained, rather than delivered once and abandoned when a project ends.
Interpretation
Reports and curated visualisations built on top of the open data.
Support
Direct time with the founder to work out what the numbers mean for your decisions.
A place in the network
Members are named as the organisations funding open urban data in Europe, alongside the cities, associations and research groups doing the same.
Who it is for
Membership is built for institutions, not individuals.
- Associations and networks of cities
- City and regional public bodies
- Research institutions and universities
- Mobility and infrastructure operators
